As summer is, gradually, coming to a close, and fall is fast approaching, bringing cooler breezes, it is time to connect with everyone.
There have been many inquiries, almost daily, since the auditions that took place early August. Many more students will be auditioning in October. Very exciting! Friends are welcome to come watch throughout the month of October, if they are considering signing up.
This production welcomes each student that auditions! From ages 3 years to college age, students are embraced in this classic fairytale musical production, beloved by many throughout the ages. Whether students are homeschooled, attend private school, or a church friends, they are welcome to audition. The production reaches out to all of Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. Each student who auditions will be given a place in the production. Adult guests will be included as well.
As auditions will be held each Friday in October, beginning October 6th, at Rockbrook Untied Methodist Church (9855 West Center Road) in Omaha, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, general rehearsals will begin as well, at that same time at Rockbrook UMC. You will enter the building on the lower West side. The 3 to 7 year old students will begin rehearsing in January.
If you are auditioning in October, please bring your entrance fee, as this will help defray the costs of the production. Entrance fees are $50.00 per student, and $100/family if two or more students from a family are auditioning. We do not wish to discourage any student from participating in Cinderella due to an inability to pay the designated fee. Please see our Communications Director, Lisa Orsi, for all fee related questions. Fees are nonrefundable.
Students do not need to bring anything with them for the first rehearsal on Friday, October 6th. General and ‘cushion’ rehearsals will be held at Rockbrook United Methodist Church. General rehearsal dates and performance dates are now posted on our Calendar Page of this website.
Skilled musicians for the live orchestra are needed to join the production as well. Musicians who want to play in the orchestra do not have to pay an entrance fee. Guitars, brass, strings, percussion and woodwind instrumentalists all are welcome.
One parent from each family involved will be asked to serve on a committee, such as props, sets, costumes, hair and make-up, fundraising, ticket sales/advertising, etc. Adults do not need to pay an entrance fee, just the students since this is an educational project. Students only need to pay an entrance fee one time, and can multi-task in the production. Cast members can work on sets and behind the scenes if they so desire, as long as their roles are not compromised.
Attention parents: We have large expenses and many jobs to fill, all necessary for a production of this caliber. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
